Now I'm getting the chance to read books I didn't have time for before. Think of me whenever you see the slogan "So many books, so little time!" Now I've got the time.  Cheers, Fred.

Here David Wilson discusses the religious beliefs of the senior, highly respected, British scientists Oliver Lodge, J.H. Jeans and A.S. Eddington whose careers covered Victorian years and the earliest modern physics years. (See also book 6.)

These three scientists came to accept this new modern physics (relativity and quantum physics) but, as a result, they all changed their religious views to allow for the revolutionary new physics ideas. Each came up with his own version of a faith that was compatible with the new science. Their revised world views are well described and discussed in this academic article. It is well worth reading because it provides useful insights on some early attempts by scientists to combine their faith with the new physics paradigms of relativity and quantum physics.
