Now I'm getting the chance to read books I didn't have time for before. Think of me whenever you see the slogan "So many books, so little time!" Now I've got the time.  Cheers, Fred.

Why book numbers and book types? (Fred's first blog)

The book numbers give the order in which I read the books. (The date I read the book is my best recollection, so is approximate.) When studying a topic by reading books, the order read can affect how one feels about that book type. A lousy first book may turn one off, whereas a great first book may make you eager to read more of that book type.

I started doing book reviews for the reason given in "About Fred." After I'd read and reviewed a few dozen books, I realized that it would be useful to categorize books by book "type." The number of types was set at 12 as being adequate. To see the 12 book types, I think it is best to go to "Fred's Reviews" where the number of each type is given in the list of the 12 types. This page also gives the options open for selecting books by type or by other criteria. The books can be listed in ascending or descending order - click on the # symbol to reverse the order. I suggest that "playing around" with these options is a good way to learn the various ways to select books (by book type, or by author, or by title). Some of the authors have written books that I've placed in different book types, as I deemed useful to the reader of my reviews for that author.
